Transmission/power steering fluids

Can anybody recommend fluids or modern equivalent specifications for the Torqueflite transmission and power steering ? Many thanks in advance Guy
The original recommended fluids was Type A fluid, which is hard to get. Type A was superceded by Type-A, Suffix A, then by Dexron, and then Mercon. Any of these would be fine. Many 300 club members swear by using type F [Ford] fluid for its friction qualities too.
